Super positive experience
Can't say enough about the JMST training! I'm a newbie to riding, and was nervous about the course. SOOO glad I went. Scott and Kristen are experienced, professional, and patient range coaches who made the classes fun and applied positive reinforcement while maintaining everyone's attention and respect. Great experience! Looking forward to the advanced classes when I have a bit more road time under my belt. Thanks Mike, Kristen, and especially Scott for the encouragement!
I just completed the past weekends course and wanted to say thank you. Your attention to details and instructions for a safer ride have made the difference in my motor cycle riding already. I appreciate your coaching style and patience. Chocolate donuts on Sunday morning would be a nice touch!

Just wanted to thank you guy's for the very informative and awesome course I took last weekend. My instructors were superb, patient and extremely knowledgeable. I was having one particular problem and Jeremy explained it to me in terms that I could relate to and help me to better understand how to fix it. Would recommend anyone looking to take a basic and or advanced course to take your class. Thanks again and look forward to returning and taking an advanced course later on. Laurie thanks for the patience and help in scheduling also.

I never rode a motorcycle, and the patience showed by Jim and Jeremy in teaching all of us was exceptional. The know how to teach.
I'm 68 years old and to have gone through the course is a highlight at my age. I plan on going back to practice, so will see you soon.
Knowledgeable Friendly and Safety Oriented
Had loads of fun learning to ride correctly and receiving constructive feedback. Huge boost in confidence and despite the numerous (but essential) technical input, application and practice are encouraged and easily retained. The group setting is great as well, it was a blast to learn side by side with people of different backgrounds and skill. I recommend this place for anyone wishing to experience the thrill of being on a motorcycle, to ride better, and of course to be legal. Thanks again guys, looking forward to advanced classes!
The Best Motocycle Safety Training Course Around
I just finished the course given on Feb 28 - Mar 01 at the Morocco Shrine. From the classroom instruction taught by Mike Dodd, to the range training taught by riding coaches Jim and Jeremy, it was all top notch. Our class ranged from novice to experienced riders. The teaching was intuitive, easy to pick up on if you pay attention and FUN. Look nowhere else. Take your training here. I plan on looking into the Advanced Rider course next year. Great job JMST!

What an amazing experience!
Not only did I have an amazing time laughing and learning, I also gained the confidence I needed to become a motorcycle rider. I went straight from the class to the DMV and had my motorcycle endorsement the same day. They got me so excited to ride I could wait only until the next day to go and purchase my own. If you've never rode a motorcycle before, now is the time. They will teach you everything you need to know from start to stop. Thank you guys again for everything. Wesley Blom

I have not ridden before and was nervous about the testing process. Jim, our instructor was fabulous. He was very patient, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, and has a great teaching method. he was calm and supportive the entire weekend. I wish all training were like this!!
I completed the basic rider course today and I can not say enough good things about this program and the instructors! I was in a class of 9 students all with different riding backgrounds. Some of us had experience riding and some had never sat on a bike before. There is something to learn for every rider, regardless of experience level. The instructors we had (Jim & Frank) were awesome! They made the class fun and NOT just a learn it and test style. You can tell they really care about you learning the material so you can be as safe as possible when you do get on the road. This level of care is apparent from day one. If you have trouble while learning different drills they have no problem with pulling you to the side and helping you learn exactly what YOU may be doing wrong, not just addressing the class as a whole. This will make your experience at JMST feel much more personal and not just like another student in the mix. When we did classroom training we were taught by the company's owner, Mike Dobbs. This guy knows his stuff and makes the normal boring classroom work entertaining and lively! I will recommend this school to EVERYONE and I look forward to taking other courses offered!
Thanks for a great experience!
I just finished my class Sunday- I and I have to say..
I am AMAZED! I cannot say enough about the class.
I am a 41 year old, 5'2, 125 pound lady and I was more than a little anxious about taking this class since I hadn't EVER driven/ridden a motorcycle.
Friday night was about 4 hours of class time with Mike Dobbs, that went well- learned A LOT!
(you DO need motorcycle insurance if you are
going to be out on the road, regardless of what
Saturday- all my concerns were laid to rest about 15 minutes after class started. They start you off having you sit on the bike, showing you how to start it, then walking the bike across, showed a neat (and easy) way to turn it around. After about 15 minutes of that and they've got you RIDING across!
Lots of skill building and patience were shown by the instructors Jeremy and Jim. Those guys were great! Practical, concerned, safety conscious and funny! At one point on Sunday I was almost in tears, because I felt I just wasn't getting it right. Jeremy said you're doing fine! Calm down, breath, you're good- go do it- AND I DID!
I can honestly say- I am still in shock that I can now ride a motorcycle! When the coaches give you feedback as you're going along- really listen and try to do what they suggest to you- it works.
Weaving in and out of the cones and going over the 2x4 were my favorite parts:) The swerving to miss an object and that darn figure 8 U-Turn in the box gave me a fit! But I PASSED!
I was worried because of my size, but MAN... I am so STOKED and excited! I cannot wait to get out there and ride! I am going today to get my new
endorsement on my license and I am going to practice riding quiet back roads and around our neighborhood and really get the feel of my bike.
I want to be safe and confident of my skills and my bike before I get out there. I CANNOT WAIT!
Thank you so much you guys- I can't describe the feeling this has given me:)
Highly recommend this class, the men instructing
are all highly skilled riders and it is a very relaxed
atmosphere. Although my class was entirely in the
rain it was enjoyable and I learned skills I would
never have thought of myself.
I’m glad I chose this school!
This training was awesome!!! Just graduated the class yesterday. John Donnely, Jeremy, Ralph and Mike were very nice and made the experience fun! I was nervous at first but their approach relaxes you. Not uptight in any way and they have a great sense of humor which makes the initial fearfulness go away. I’m glad I chose this school for my training! Thanks guys! I’ll be back for the advanced training class in the future : D
I will definitely recommend this class to others.
I completed the training this past weekend August 24 and 25 at the Talleyrand location. Just wanted to let you know it was a very positive experience. I had never driven a motorcycle so was quite nervous. Jeremy and Ralph did a great job explaining, demonstrating, and encouraging. I feel confident that I have a good basis to become more proficient and safe at motorcycle/scooter ridding. I will definitely recommend this class to others. Thanks so much.
I would like to thank you for such an excellent experience I’ve went through into learning how to ride a motorcycle. I’ve become more confident and proficient in this, and feel much safer. Your staff is awesome and very respectful. I recommend this class to any of my friends trying to begin to ride. Thanks again!
I just want to write to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my motorcycle training course. I’ve never ridden a motorcycle before in my life. I’ve always been interested in them ever since I was a little girl and always wanted to know more about them. I finally worked up enough courage to enroll in classes. I checked out a few websites and classes of other companies but felt that MST was the right fit for my schedule and my level of experience (which was zero). I was extremely nervous and did not know what to expect, but those feelings quickly got pushed aside when I met Jennifer and Jeremy. They were AWESOME instructors and were very encouraging. I made many mistakes before I did something right and even through my mistakes they helped me to stay positive and to maintain my focus, not to live in the mistake just learn from it and move on. They continued to keep a positive atmosphere throughout the day and I left feeling confident and knowing that they equipped me with the basic skills I need to operate a motorcycle safely. I know I am a long way from being experienced but I plan to take more classes from MST, gain more experience and I know I will be ridin’ great in no time.
Thank you sooooo much,
About 2 years ago I took your State of Florida compliant basic rider class. I was disappointed that it was a requirement because I rode for a few years as a younger man. I don’t think I made it obvious to anyone but I began with less than a perfect attitude. Fortunately for me, I changed that perspective quickly and made as much of the opportunity as I could.
I should have taken the time to write this note months ago, because I’ve known the truth of it since about 45 days after the class ended. That truth is that I believe your class is one of the most valuable classes I have ever taken. I am a private pilot and also in a profession that requires regular continuing education…I’m used to taking classes. Yours may have already saved my life; I can’t know that for sure, but I know it certainly has enhanced it.
Just like you, I am often faced with the discussion about the dangers of riding. It is usually begun by a concerned person that would prefer I didn’t ride a motorcycle, or from one considering the life style. In either case, I always tell them the same thing. I always agree with their concerns. I will usually even tell them that while I love riding I believe it is more dangerous than flying. I go on to tell them that is why they have to take the class to get their designation.
I suppose you have to become a real rider before you can really balance the risks and rewards of riding a motorcycle. How many times have all of us allowed the thought of “as dangerous as this is, I’m so happy to be right here, right now.” Every time I get on my bike (Harley Heritage) I review the state of the equipment, my gear, and I orient my mind to a heightened state of awareness. I never ride scared, if I ever do, it will probably be my last ride. I never ride “cocky” that too will probably get my bike sold. I ride aware of my circumstances; empowered by my skills, and loving the opportunity of the experience.
None of this would be possible had I not taken your class. I can’t know what other classes are like but I know yours was excellent. The highlight for me was the fact that the instructors were diligent in their duties and did everything they could to get us ready.
So, finally the purpose for this note; thank you and keep up the good work!
Excited and somewhat anxious, I decided to take the Jacksonville Motorcycle Safety Training School’s Basic Rider Training Course after purchasing a 250cc Vespa GTS. I hadn’t ridden a motorcycle since I was a teenager, and was somewhat intimidated by the thought of riding a powerful bike. After spending a short period of time with the instructors Cindy and Jim, I felt confident in my ability to learn how to be a safe rider. Cindy was highly effective with the classroom portion of the course. I’ve worked in higher education for the past ten years, and was pleasantly surprised to learn that both instructors had a strong understanding of best practices in adult education. Cindy highlighted portions of the curriculum that were critical to riding safely and legally. She also did a great job of preparing us for the written exam.
Equally impressive was the manner in which Jim and Cindy were able to teach the actual practice of riding safely on the range. There was a wide range of experience levels in the class that I was in, but I think we all learned a lot. Jim explained each exercise that the students were to perform clearly, which was followed by a demonstration. After each rider performed a drill, the rider coaches reviewed their performance individually. I was also quite impressed with the advice the instructors gave us about motorcycles that would be appropriate for each one of the students.
Overall I can’t say enough good things about the course. The curriculum was strong, the instructors were fantastic, the bikes were in good repair, and we had a lot of fun! I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning how to ride.

Hey Mr. Dobbs,
I just wanted to write you to tell you how much your school has helped my riding and more importantly awareness while riding! I came to your school as a prerequisite for my license. I am a stunt rider and thought that there would be nothing that your school could teach me. After having class with Cindy and ken and listening to them I learned a lot. The lessons they taught me have saved my xxx more than once on the road! There was one in specific that ken told us about never putting my bike in neutral at a light or a stop sign. He said that if I had to move the bike to escape a motorist who is not paying attention I would not be able to. He told us a story of how that saved his life. I always remembered that as I had that bad habit! Well I wanted to show you this video of a guy we rode with to say thanks to your school for all you do to help riders get the most enjoyment out of being a rider and doing it as safely as you can!!!! P.s. Please tell Cindy I would still take my Honda over her BMW Anyday.lol
Hi, I just graduated this past weekend woohoo! I want to say thankyou to Mr. Mike Dobbs for the great class experience. Great sense of humor. I have to say, with never being on a bike before I was nervous, but more of an excited nervous, and I felt so lucky to have the best rider coaches. They exceeded my expectations and both Cindy and Jim really gave me the confidence I needed to execute the drills. You guys have a great program and I am so thankful for having this experience to enter into the world of motorcycles. Please let Cindy and Jim know that they are awesome. Thank you so much, Denise B.
